How can we help?

Questions. The ones people ask.

Can I use this with Facebook Marketplace or a classifieds site?

Yes. Bonfium runs alongside them: you agree the trade wherever you met, then pay through Bonfium. Vinted is different: it has its own checkout and does not allow outside payments, so use that.

Who pays the fee?

Whoever you agree on: split evenly, paid by the buyer, or paid by the seller. Both of you see the fee before anyone pays.

Is there a maximum trade size?

No maximum, and no cliff where a large trade suddenly costs the same as a small one - the fee keeps falling smoothly as the trade grows.

Is there anything off for new people?

New to Bonfium? Up to €10 off our fee on your first trade. On trades of €30 or more, sent with tracking. One per person.

Does this work between different countries?

Yes. Everything is priced and paid in euros, and the seller ships with whichever major carrier delivers on that route.

How does a swap work?

Swaps aren't open yet. A swap needs two tracked parcels and the same protection for both sides, and that part isn't finished, so a swap can't be started for now. Until then, each of you can start an ordinary trade for your own item.

Can I sell digital items?

Yes: codes, such as game keys or licence keys, and files. You add the code or the files when you start the trade, before anyone pays, and Bonfium holds them. Once the buyer has paid, they reveal the code or download the files and have 2 hours to check them. If nothing is reported in that time, the money goes to the seller. Gift cards and other stored value can't be sold.

What if the seller just never ships?

Nothing is released. If no tracking number appears within the agreed window, the trade cancels itself and the buyer is refunded in full. The seller cannot reach the money at any point before delivery is confirmed.

What happens if the item never arrives?

The buyer is refunded in full. The money never left Bonfium in the first place, so there is nothing to claw back.

What if the item isn't what was described?

That's exactly what the inspection window is for. Open a dispute before it ends and explain what's wrong - photos and an unboxing video make the strongest case. A reviewer compares that against the original listing and the seller's response, and can release the money, refund it, or split it if both sides were partly right.

What counts as evidence in a dispute?

Courier records - including the weight logged at the depot - plus photos and an unboxing video if you filmed one. Both sides see the same evidence file. There are no secret submissions.

How long does a trade actually take?

As long as shipping takes, plus the inspection window - there's no extra waiting built in. Payment is confirmed instantly, and the money moves to the seller the moment the buyer approves or the inspection window closes without a dispute.

Can either side cancel?

Before the seller ships, yes - either side can cancel and the buyer is refunded in full. Once tracking shows the parcel moving, cancelling isn't possible; that's the point where a dispute, not a cancellation, is the right tool if something's actually wrong.

What if the buyer just changes their mind?

A genuine change of mind isn't a dispute - the item matching its description is what's protected, not an automatic right to return it. Sellers can choose to offer returns themselves, but Bonfium doesn't force one on a seller who accurately described what they sold.

When does the seller get paid?

When the buyer confirms the parcel, or when the 48 hours to check end with no problem opened. The payout then goes to the bank account in the seller's Money page.

Trade rules. The same for both sides.

  1. The buyer pays first. The money waits with our payment provider, not with either of you.

  2. The seller ships within 5 days and adds the tracking number.

  3. The buyer has 48 hours after delivery to check the parcel.

  4. If nothing is reported in that time, the money goes to the seller automatically.

  5. Either side can report a problem before the money is released.

  6. In a dispute, both sides see the same evidence file. There are no private submissions.
